Modern exercise science has proven that not all exercises are created equal. Some approaches may be more effective for you depending on your body type and goals. It’s not as simple as inputs versus outputs. If you want to lose weight then this raises the question: what is the best type of exercise to burn fat. Although there is no simple answer, an examination of aerobic and anaerobic exercises could shed light on the best way to approach your workouts.

The terms anaerobic and aerobic exercise are used in a variety of ways. The formal definitions revolve around the amount of oxygen required to perform an activity. The oxygen intake is high enough to maintain the activity level without needing to add another energy source. When you are doing anaerobic exercises, your oxygen intake is insufficient to meet the energy requirements of your muscles. Your muscles then begin to break down your sugars to produce more lactic acid.

The easiest way to distinguish between the two is that aerobic activity is a light activity which you can maintain for a long period of time such as jogging. Anaerobic exercise is a burst of activity lasting fewer than 30 seconds such as sprinting.

What’s more? Both types of exercise burn fat.

Both will result in a boost to metabolism which will last hours after your workout. To get the best results, you need to combine both aerobic and anaerobic exercises. Aerobic exercise improves your cardiovascular health and endurance, while anaerobic exercises help you to burn fat as well as gain lean muscles.

Our classes include both aerobic and anaerobic exercises!

The perfect balance of aerobic and anaerobic sections is used to maximize fat-burning benefits. Jazzercise classes have choreographed moves that burn fat anaerobically and build lean muscles aerobically. To achieve these goals, all the exercises have been carefully choreographed and designed to music. The heart rate is affected by the tempo and style of music. Muscles are trained by using resistance and executing technique. The order and placement of the exercises determines the aerobic and anaerobic portions that comprise the whole workout. The cardio part of the class is a great form of aerobic exercise, while strength training is anaerobic. This will help you build lean muscles that burn more fat.

What is the best method to burn fat? You will get Real Results if you combine both aerobic and anaerobic exercise in a balanced manner.
